Biography

I spent the first three months of my life trying to focus
on the bright, swirling colors common to the sixties.
When my obsession with that ended, the world had
been experiencing the seventies for eleven days.
Throughout my childhood, I developed a deep
appreciation for all forms of artistic expression. There
are no obvious limits to my inspiration. I once dropped
to my knees in a clothing store, to better examine the
pattern on a pair of pants. The print that captivated
me was a textile imported from Indonesia called Batik.
(The word Batik directly translated means to dot).
Inspired and influenced by abstract, abstract
expressionism and pointillism, my recent focus has been
to bring together fragments of these influences, along
with others to fuse colors and styles that would not
normally be considered cohesive. Although this
statement may be attributed to too much television in
the eighties, my work is meant to be an exploration of
the influence of external forces on individuals. The
result is an intentional integration of the dualities that
arise from experiencing the combination of positive
and negative energies throughout life. The main goal is
not to limit, but to expand upon the possibilities, to
work in many different mediums, ultimately freeing
the truth of my vision with whatever at the time is
required, to study new media or to create simply
through mad primitive scribbling expression.
